The Delhi Township Board in Ingham County voted unanimously to oppose any data center development in the township and asked Lighthouse Sustainability to keep its promise to stop the proposal. The planned project, valued at $10 billion and covering about 400 acres, was announced by the Lansing Economic Area Partnership and the developer shortly before the meeting.

The proposal prompted a rapid public response, with township officials saying they had not previously discussed or considered the project. More than 200 people were unable to enter the meeting at the Sam Corey Senior Center because the room was at capacity, underscoring the strength of local opposition.
