La Porte council paves way for second Microsoft data center

The La Porte City Council has taken significant steps to facilitate the construction of a second Microsoft data center in the area. During a recent meeting, the council unanimously approved two key ordinances. The first ordinance involves the annexation of nine parcels of land, totaling over 1,000 acres, into the city. The second ordinance re-zones this land from its previous classification to light industrial use, which is necessary for data center development.
