Residents from Piedmont, Yukon, and Oklahoma City convened on a Saturday night at Dodge City Paintball near Piedmont to discuss growing concerns regarding proposed data center projects in their area. Approximately 20 people attended the gathering to voice a range of issues.
Chelsea Bingham, a resident, highlighted specific worries about the impact on the local agricultural community, expressing fears about "pollution and noise" that could heavily affect the industry. Other concerns raised by residents included water usage and potential impacts on livestock.
The participants expressed a desire for open discussions to ensure they remain informed and engaged throughout the planning processes for these data center proposals. The Piedmont City Council is scheduled to hold a meeting on Monday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m., where these issues may be addressed.
