More than 200 Elizabeth Township residents attended a public meeting on a proposed data center at a 550-acre property in the Buena Vista area. The preliminary concept includes 20 two-story buildings, stormwater basins and significant setbacks from residential areas. Developer Tim Hendricks said the project could generate tax revenue and 200 to 300 permanent jobs, but emphasized that the plans remain early and no formal submissions have been made.

Residents raised concerns about property values, construction noise, environmental impacts, underground mines, water and power consumption, and the effect on nearby neighborhoods. Many attendees signed petitions opposing the project, and one person was escorted from the meeting by township police. The group Protect Elizabeth Township is planning another town hall, while Hendricks said he will consult with township commissioners about possible next steps and zoning requirements.
