Public hearing for proposed Harmony Storage project to be held in Casselton
The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing in Casselton on Geronimo Power’s proposed Harmony Storage battery project. Geronimo Power is also seeking to build a data center in Harmony Township that could initially use up to 540 megawatts, but that data center is not the subject of the hearing.
The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold an Oct. 23 public hearing in Casselton to gather public input on Geronimo Power’s proposed Harmony Storage battery energy storage system. The approximately $249 million project would occupy 9.73 acres within the broader Harmony Solar site and include a 200-megawatt, four-hour battery system connected to the solar project’s collector substation and the electric grid.
Geronimo Power, a Minnesota-based energy company, is also pursuing a data center in Harmony Township with potential demand of up to 540 megawatts and future expansion. That facility is not part of the PSC hearing, which concerns the company’s request for a siting permit for the battery project. Information submitted during the hearing will become part of the commission’s official record.
