More than 100 residents of Pierce Township and Clermont County attended a zoning meeting to discuss potential data center development. Residents raised concerns about energy consumption, environmental impacts from the former Beckjord Power Station and the possibility of development near homes, while several said they would continue opposing any data center proposal.

The Pierce Township Zoning Board said no data center applications have been submitted and that the township is not currently in discussions with developers. Data centers are barred while a moratorium remains in effect through May 31, 2027, and officials said they are working on zoning regulations and requirements for any future applications. A township trustee also said the township would remain transparent and would not sign a nondisclosure agreement with a data center company if discussions begin.
