Lyon County hosting informational session on data centers Thursday
Lyon County will hold an informational meeting in Emporia about data centers as officials develop zoning regulations for the facilities. Discussion topics will include noise, visual setbacks, fire safety, water usage and protection of the county’s rural character.
Lyon County Planning and Zoning Director Sam Seeley will host an informational meeting at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex in Emporia to discuss data centers and related equipment. The session is part of the county’s ongoing work to develop zoning regulations for such facilities.
Officials plan to address noise and visual setbacks, fire safety standards, water consumption and measures to protect the area’s rural character. The meeting is open to the public but is not a formal public hearing.
