The Southwest Virginia Data Center Transparency Alliance plans to hold a “March for a Moratorium” in Grandin Village in Roanoke, highlighting opposition to two proposed Google data centers in Daleville and Roanoke County. Alliance spokesperson Kathyrn Hattam said the event will function as both a rally and an opportunity for residents to learn more about data center development.

The march is co-sponsored by the Sierra Club and Protect Our Water, Heritage, Rights–Power. Following the event, the Grandin Theatre is scheduled to screen “Versus Goliath,” a documentary about efforts to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
