An activist speaking at a town hall urged Union Township and nearby municipalities to use their legal resources to stop work on the Kenilworth data center project. Residents cited alleged unauthorized redevelopment work, continuous noise, nighttime emissions, and concerns that a PILOT tax arrangement would divert revenue from local schools.

An activist from Union, located a few blocks from the project site, called for an immediate halt to construction at the Kenilworth data center. The speaker alleged that work was occurring illegally and said the project lacked a required redevelopment agreement, urging Union and neighboring municipalities to involve their attorneys and pursue enforcement action.

Residents also described round-the-clock noise and visible nighttime plumes from the site. The speaker criticized a proposed or existing payment-in-lieu-of-taxes arrangement, arguing that most PILOT-generated revenue would not go to schools and that the community should receive conventional property-tax revenue. The remarks drew applause and encouraged residents to continue pressing local town councils to stop the project and prevent additional data center construction.
