Drone captures huge AI data center rising in New Jersey

A $1.8 billion AI data center is rising in one of New Jersey's smallest towns, and it's sparking controversy. The 392,600-square-foot facility is being built by Livingston-based CoreWeave on part of the former Merck campus. Home to about 8,500 residents and spanning just two square miles, Kenilworth is now at the center of a debate over AI infrastructure. Many area residents worry the project could strain the power grid and impact quality of life. Almost 13,000 people reportedly signed a petition opposing the development, citing concerns about sustainability and environmental impacts.
