Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Don Kissick said slowing data center development in Ohio would be his top priority. He criticized the industry’s land use impacts, alleged cronyism in site selection, and effects on nearby homeowners and farms, arguing that development should either be stopped or tightly regulated.

Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Don Kissick, who lives in Ottawa in northwest Ohio, said during a WBNS-10TV interview that his top priority would be slowing data center development across the state. Kissick argued that data centers are a major encroachment on surrounding property and farms and alleged that cronyism influences how sites are selected.

Kissick said Ohio already has the fourth-highest number of data centers in the country and suggested that further growth should be stopped rather than continued at its current pace. The interview also covered his broader campaign as a third-party candidate challenging Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton.
