The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) has initiated legal action to stop the construction of a data center project in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. SELC filed a court order seeking an injunction to halt all construction activities for the Valora data center.

The lawsuit also requests that Spartanburg County cease processing land development for the project. SELC states that their legal action was prompted because the data center was allowed to proceed with construction before it was reviewed by the Spartanburg Planning Commission.
