During a recent meeting, the Lakeview Village Council took several actions, notably passing a moratorium on data centers. This decision comes alongside other discussions, including proposed changes to parking regulations on West Lake Avenue, particularly during peak ball seasons, a measure approved for initial signage installation with further considerations pending. Additionally, Washington Township Officer Travis Davidson reported on a successful drug seizure operation assisted by the Logan County Drug Task Force. Zoning Officer Gary Bias detailed responding to 85 calls in April and issuing several permits, also noting his attendance at a training sponsored by the Logan-Union-Champaign Regional Planning Commission and his intent to begin revising current zoning ordinances. Village Administrator Dave Scott also informed the council about the necessity of updating the village's cybersecurity programs to comply with Ohio House Bill 96, which requires political subdivisions to implement safeguards by July 1. The council authorized a monthly expenditure of up to $1200 to meet these cybersecurity requirements.
