Harmony's Planning and Zoning Commission held a required public hearing on Oct. 28 and recommended approval of an ordinance that would create a regulatory framework for prospective data center developments. Council member Stuart Morem said the proposal would provide enhanced protections for residents, the environment and surrounding areas.

Opponents, including nearby property owner Angie Olson, raised concerns about potential impacts on neighboring properties and property values. The Harmony City Council is expected to decide whether to enact the ordinance at its Nov. 4 meeting.
