Wrightstown adopts a one-year moratorium on data center projects
The Village of Wrightstown unanimously approved a one-year moratorium on data center projects. This decision followed a signed petition from residents and extends a previous temporary pause on planning for future projects.
The Village of Wrightstown in Wisconsin has enacted a one-year moratorium on new data center projects. The decision was made unanimously by village board members during a meeting on Tuesday evening.
The approval comes after residents submitted a signed petition in favor of pausing data center development. This new moratorium officially extends a previous resolution passed last month that temporarily paused planning for such projects.
Despite the newly approved yearlong moratorium, village officials confirmed that an advisory referendum on future data center projects will still appear on the August ballot, offering residents a chance to voice their opinions.
