Town Manager Charlie Smith stated the council felt it was appropriate to proactively implement the pause, noting the recent surge in data center interest and development in nearby municipalities like Jeffersonville and Charlestown. This move aligns Sellersburg with other Southern Indiana communities that have also taken steps to temporarily halt or regulate such facilities.
