More than 230 environmental groups have demanded a national moratorium on new data centers in the US, citing concerns about the energy-hungry facilities causing increases in electricity bills and worsening the climate crisis. The groups have urged Congress to halt the proliferation of data centers, which they say are disrupting communities and threatening economic, environmental, climate, and water security.
