The New Mexico Supreme Court has issued two significant stays concerning permits for "Project Jupiter" in Doña Ana County. On Sunday, the Supreme Court unanimously granted a temporary stay, pausing proceedings for an air permit for the data center development. This stay was in response to a petition filed by the Santa Fe-based organization New Energy Economy, with the court citing that the New Mexico Environment Department could not proceed with a public hearing on the air quality permit application as the project's fuel source had not been established.
Additionally, the court issued another order granting a stay on an emergency drilling permit for water, intended for a new well to serve Project Jupiter. This specific stay was requested by the Center for Biological Diversity.
