Data center and warehouse developer transfers Archbald property for $4M
PNK Group transferred a 44.47-acre property in Archbald to an affiliated company as it develops plans for two data centers. The developer plans to hold an open house, while Archbald considers zoning amendments and residents prepare to scrutinize the project through public hearings.
PNK Group transferred a 44.47-acre lot in the Valley View Business Park from PNK P1 LLC to affiliated company DC VV1 LLC for $4 million. The New York City-based developer is continuing plans for two data centers and related structures in Archbald and expects to present the proposal at an open house in nearby Jessup. Chief Development Officer Anton Voronkin said the event will address residents' questions and concerns.
The property is located within an Archbald data center overlay that conditionally permits such developments. The borough is considering changes to its zoning map and regulations, although the proposed framework would continue to allow data centers in at least part of Valley View Business Park. Residents have urged officials to restrict data centers to industrial areas away from homes, and PNK's eventual conditional-use application will require public hearings before the borough council votes.
The article also notes that Archbald has denied other large data center proposals, including projects by Project Scott and Wildcat Ridge, with those decisions facing litigation or appeal. Separately, Maryland-based DBT-Data is scheduled for a conditional-use hearing on a proposed data center in the Jessup portion of the business park.
