Police are investigating a protest at Lazarus & Silvyn, a Tucson law firm linked to Beale Industries, the developer behind "Project Blue," a proposed data center near the Pima County Fairgrounds. Approximately 20 masked protesters entered the firm's offices, chanting about water depletion concerns and demanding the firm sever ties with Beale Industries.
Lazarus & Silvyn reported that employees were physically threatened, though Tucson Police, who responded to the scene, made no arrests. Pima County Supervisor Matt Heinz and Tucson City Councilmember Nikki Lee, despite their differing stances on Project Blue's approval, both condemned the protesters' tactics, emphasizing that intimidation in workplaces crosses a line.
Stand Up, Fight Back Tucson, an organization that took credit for the protest, claimed its members were assaulted by an employee during the incident. Project Blue is currently slated for full operation by 2028.
