Opponents of data center development in Clinton, Iowa, vocally expressed their concerns to the Clinton City Council and Mayor during the public comments portion of a regular business meeting. The public outcry occurred just one day before a second scheduled workshop session intended to draft a data center zoning ordinance.
Speakers, including Celeste Robbins and Stephen Figg representing the group "Clintonians Against Data Centers," were informed by City Attorney Pat O’Connell that council members would not respond to topics not previously on the agenda, in adherence to Iowa’s open meetings law.
