Grant County supervisors approve data center moratorium

The Grant County Board of Supervisors in Lancaster, Wisconsin, has enacted a 12-month moratorium on hyperscale data center development. The board's decision on Tuesday followed a recommendation made two weeks prior by the county's Conservation, Sanitation and Zoning Committee.

The approved resolution implements a temporary halt on all zoning-related permits for the placement or construction of hyperscale data centers within unincorporated areas of Grant County for a period of up to one year.
