Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and three members of the Denver City Council announced the formation of a 26-member working group to help shape rules for data centers. The group will develop recommendations on where the facilities should be allowed and what conditions should apply to their operation.
The initiative comes as Denver officials and residents raise concerns about data centers’ demands on electricity and water, as well as their effects on nearby neighborhoods. No final regulations have yet been adopted.
