Fisk University in North Nashville has announced a new billion-dollar campus renovation project, dubbed the "Quantum Leap," which will feature a 100,000 square-foot facility including a 70,000 square-foot data center and a new academic center. The project also encompasses renovations to residence halls and an expanded event space.
Fisk University President Agenia Clark emphasized the university's commitment to community engagement and addressing potential concerns. Don Harden, founder and CEO of Harden Group, the construction company involved, reassured attendees that measures would be taken to mitigate noise, water consumption, and energy usage impacts on neighbors. The university is also collaborating with Nashville Electric Service to ensure the data center's operations do not increase energy costs for local residents.
