State Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver of Pennsylvania is set to host a virtual public information session later this month to address concerns regarding the water usage of proposed data centers.
The online event, titled "Managing Water Demand Associated with Data Centers," will take place on Wednesday, July 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. It will focus on how new data center developments could impact water resources within the Susquehanna River Basin.
Andrew D. Dehoff, executive director of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC), will be the featured speaker. He will explain the SRBC's process for reviewing water demand from large projects, including data centers, and how the commission balances environmental protection with community needs. Senator Culver emphasized that the session will offer residents clear information on water use review and regulation, allowing them to hear directly from the SRBC about its role in safeguarding vital resources.
Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during the virtual event. Registration details are available on Sen. Culver's official website and social media pages.
