Pembroke, Georgia, has about 160 days remaining on a 180-day moratorium covering data center development. Mayor Tiffany Zeigler said city staff, the city attorney and the Planning Commission are reviewing existing ordinances and considering regulations for large-scale data centers.

The review will examine effects on water and wastewater systems, electricity demand, noise, lighting, public safety, infrastructure and neighboring properties. Zeigler said the moratorium is intended to give the city time to establish rules before a proposal is submitted, and no public hearing dates have been scheduled.
