Applications open for Data Center Research Committee
The Vanderburgh County Commissioners are accepting applications for a newly established Data Center Research Committee. This committee will evaluate potential impacts of data centers on the county, including land use, utility capacity, and environmental resources, and will provide recommendations to the Commissioners and Area Plan Commission.
The Vanderburgh County Commissioners in Kentucky are forming a Data Center Research Committee and are currently seeking applications from interested individuals to serve on it. The committee's primary role will be to conduct comprehensive research into the potential effects of data centers on Vanderburgh County and its residents.
Key areas of focus for the committee include land use, infrastructure and utility capacity, transportation, stormwater management, environmental resources, public safety, noise, heat, and economic development. Once their research is complete, the committee will present its findings and recommendations to both the County Commissioners and the Area Plan Commission. Applications for committee membership are being accepted until 4 p.m. on August 20, with officials encouraging diverse professional, technical, business, agricultural, and community backgrounds.
