Lyon County Commissioners have enacted a six-month moratorium on new data center plans, effective July 23. The commissioners approved two separate resolutions, each with different effective dates, that will put a hold on any new data center projects for a half-year period.

This action comes shortly after the commissioners also approved new ordinances for zoning regulations specifically tied to data center developments. In addition to data centers, Lyon County is also implementing a temporary halt on projects involving battery energy storage systems and solar energy conversion systems.
