Wells voters will consider a proposed ordinance establishing a 180-day, retroactive moratorium on data center developments of at least 100,000 square feet. The pause would apply retroactively to June 16 and is intended to halt qualifying development while the town considers its approach to data centers.

The data center measure is one of five local referendums on the Nov. 3 ballot. Voters will also decide on emergency medical service staffing, a drainage easement relocation, bonds for renovations and expansion of the Log Cabin Lane fire station, and mobile home lot rent stabilization. Early voting is available at the Wells town clerk’s office, with polling on Election Day at Wells Junior High School.
