The Natrona County Planning and Zoning Commission held a meeting where, during staff updates, Development Director Sabrina Kemper informed commissioners that Prometheus Hyperscale is expected to submit a formal application for a planned data center soon. Company officials had previously given an informational presentation to county commissioners on September 1. Commissioners discussed public interest in data centers, focusing on power demands, water use, and planned unit development rules. Staff recommended scheduling the Prometheus application on its own standalone agenda for a future public hearing to allow residents ample time for comment.

In other business, the commission voted 4-0 to table a conditional use permit request from Genesis Custom Chemical Blending due to fire safety concerns raised by neighbors. Separately, the commission voted 3-1 to recommend approval of a zone change from Suburban Residential to Light Industrial at 3737 Andy Road for Ryan Wenger's contracting and storage business, despite neighbor opposition regarding increased traffic on private roads. This zoning recommendation now moves to the Natrona County Board of County Commissioners for a final decision.
