Copia Digital has filed a pre-application with the Bureau of Land Management for a proposed data center on public land in Lincoln County, Idaho. The BLM confirmed it had received the proposal but said the facility’s size, exact location and development plans have not yet been finalized.

If the project advances, it would undergo an environmental review before the public could formally comment. The agency expects that process to begin no sooner than roughly a year from now. The proposal is the second data center project identified on Idaho public lands, following Reya’s interest in about 3,700 acres of BLM land south of Boise.
