The controversial Bonner Data Center project in Bonner, Montana, has been halted after Mike Heisey, general manager of Bonner Mill Industrial Park and owner of the proposed property, withdrew his signature from the project's special exception application. Heisey cited public feedback as the reason for his decision, stating that Bonner Property will no longer move forward with the data center proposed by Krambu.

Idaho-based company Krambu had submitted the proposal in March to build the data center just east of Missoula. The plan immediately faced significant online and widespread community opposition, making it a contentious issue within the region.

In response to the public outcry and the project's status, Missoula County Commissioners were expected to deliberate on interim zoning measures to temporarily pause data center developments during their July 9 meeting, indicating a broader consideration of regulatory frameworks for such projects in the area.
