Gov: Tulsa-area rezoning committee, Planning staff
A vote on the rezoning of over 300 acres in east Tulsa for "Project Anthem," a proposed data center campus, has been delayed for at least two weeks. This decision by a Tulsa-area rezoning committee grants the unidentified developer additional time to provide more information, despite planning staff having recommended denial of the proposal due to "insufficient justifications."
The proposed site is situated between 11th and 21st Streets near the Creek Turnpike. Opponents, including resident Bobby Ross, attended the latest meeting prepared to speak against the project, urging the committee not to delay, as their concerns about environmental impacts and potential decreases in property values would not change. Ross emphasized the importance of public involvement in these conversations.
The developer's attorney, Lou Reynolds, stated that more data and mapping are needed to support the project's justification. The committee is scheduled to revisit and vote on the rezoning request at its next meeting on April 1.
