During the hearing, resident Rich Williams was the sole individual to comment on the data center provisions. He questioned the ordinance's allowance for maximum decibel levels not applying during power outages, although a sound study would still need to factor in emergency equipment like backup generators. Borough solicitor Colleen Gallo explained that this falls under conditional use, allowing the council to add further criteria for approval.
While the meeting also covered changes to residential zoning and definitions for household pets, the focus for data center development centered on the proposed framework. The Cleona Borough Council is scheduled to vote on the proposed zoning ordinance during its October meeting.
