A developer has acquired 80 acres of land in Archbald, Pennsylvania, for over $16 million, fueling speculation about another potential data center project in the area. The land, located within the Valley View Business Park which spans both Jessup and Archbald, was specifically purchased in Archbald by a developer known to have proposed a data center in central Pennsylvania.

The developer, PNK Group, confirmed the land acquisition but declined to reveal specific plans, stating they were not ready to announce them. However, the purchase was made under an LLC named DCVV LLC, leading to strong speculation within the community that a data center is intended for the site.

Archbald borough has previously seen numerous data center proposals, becoming a focal point for the anti-data center movement in Pennsylvania. This local opposition group was even acknowledged by Governor Shapiro earlier this week when he signed an executive order concerning data centers statewide.
