Bossier Lions Hear About Growing Data Center Development in Northwest Louisiana
STACK Infrastructure's director of community engagement, Ashley Busada, spoke to the Bossier City Lions Club about the company's data center projects in Northwest Louisiana. She detailed the partnership with Amazon, which now includes an $18 billion investment across Bossier and Caddo parishes and Shreveport, creating significant job opportunities. Busada also addressed local concerns regarding water usage, noise, and land development.
Ashley Busada, director of community engagement for STACK Infrastructure, addressed the Bossier City Lions Club to provide an update on data center developments in Northwest Louisiana. STACK Infrastructure, in partnership with Amazon, is expanding its investment in the region from $12 billion to $18 billion, now encompassing three data center campuses across Bossier and Caddo parishes, including Shreveport. These projects are projected to create 750 full-time Amazon data center jobs and support an additional 2,500 jobs in the broader community.
Busada clarified that not all land acquired for the projects would be developed with buildings, as some areas serve as buffer space or accommodate wetlands. She also highlighted the economic benefits, noting that local contractors and businesses are already experiencing increased demand and hiring due to data center construction.
Concerns regarding water use and noise were also addressed. Busada explained that cooling system water is partially recycled, with Amazon committing up to $400 million for public water infrastructure improvements to support its campuses. She assured that STACK's facilities would adhere to local noise regulations, distinguishing temporary construction noise from operational equipment sound. Construction is currently underway at the Bossier Parish site north of Benton.
