Roland Garcia, whose family has owned land along State Highway 158 for decades, says bulldozers have begun clearing property next to the Real Country Living RV Park in Midland County. Garcia believes the work is connected to a Bitcoin mining facility and says the machinery and expected industrial development have already undermined the quiet rural setting marketed to RV guests.

Garcia is concerned that the project could create persistent noise, affect water quality and place additional stress on the electrical grid. He says the RV park could lose customers or close because of the disruption, while arguing that data centers should be located farther from rural homes and businesses. NewsWest 9 said it contacted likely investors for comment but had not received a response.
