The updated Article 8.22 regulations are now active across Lincoln County, aiming to provide immediate legal backing against unmitigated data center impacts. While the new rules are in force, the board also sent them back to the Lincoln County Planning Commission for further refinement, allowing for future adjustments to the language and enforcement metrics.
Commissioner Chairman Kent Weems stated that this approach allows the county to strengthen its regulations immediately while retaining the opportunity for the planning and zoning bodies to perfect the final language.
