Amazon is exploring Indiana County, Pennsylvania, as a potential location for an AI data center. A company spokesperson confirmed that Amazon is in discussions with Homer City Redevelopment, the owner of a property where a new natural gas-fueled power plant is currently under construction.

Despite these discussions, a definitive agreement between Amazon and Homer City Redevelopment has not yet been finalized. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has also not received any permit applications for data centers in Homer City, nor have any pre-application meetings occurred with Amazon or other potential developers. Local officials, including Indiana County Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith and representatives from Homer City Redevelopment, have been contacted for comment, while Center Township Supervisor Matt Housholder declined to comment, citing a lack of sufficient information.
