Construction has commenced on a new multi-billion-dollar data center in Gray County, Pampa, Texas, located approximately 1.5 miles off Highway 152. The project currently employs an estimated 650 construction workers. Ryan Bradley, executive director of Pampa EDC, described the development as a "generational opportunity," emphasizing the ongoing growth in Pampa. Cortnie Hale, president/CEO of the Pampa Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the anticipated economic benefits, including increased tax revenue from property and hotel/motel taxes, which are expected to generate funds for community events and foster continuous town growth. Adjacent to the data center site, a workforce housing development is also underway, designed to accommodate the thousands of workers anticipated during various construction phases. Local officials, including Bradley and Hale, stressed the critical need for additional housing—including apartments, townhouses, and homes—within Pampa to support the influx of personnel. Hale issued an appeal to housing developers to invest in the city. The data center is projected to become operational sometime between late 2028 and early 2029, following the completion of its construction.
