Webinar to Discuss Data Center and Transmission Impacts on Agriculture in Pennsylvania

The Penn State Center for Agricultural and Shale Law, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Business Development Center, announced a free one-hour webinar titled "Understanding the Basics of Data Centers & Transmission Impacts on Agriculture." Scheduled for Friday, September 25th, the webinar will feature Lara Fowler, Professor of Teaching at Penn State Dickinson Law and Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Center for Energy Law and Policy.
The educational event is part of the Understanding Agricultural Law Educational Series, primarily designed to enhance the subject matter literacy of attorneys and business advisors in agricultural law. However, it is also open to the public. The discussion will delve into the expanding data center infrastructure, specifically addressing concerns about their power and water consumption, and the resulting impacts on the power grid and transmission lines.
