The Decatur County Democratic Central Committee has called for greater transparency regarding ongoing data center discussions in the Greensburg area. Chairman John Pratt stated that recent discussions have left many residents with questions and urged the City of Greensburg to publicly clarify the project's status, expected community impact, and current process.
Additionally, the committee encouraged Decatur County officials to adopt a temporary moratorium on new hyperscale data center development in unincorporated areas of the county. This pause, according to Pratt, would allow county leaders and residents to thoroughly evaluate potential impacts on infrastructure, utilities, land use, public services, and long-term community growth before considering additional projects.
