West Manchester Township supervisors voted unanimously Thursday night to approve a zoning amendment allowing data centers within the township, paving the way for a new development proposal.
The company Veridian is interested in purchasing the Briarwood Golf Course property to build data centers. During the public hearing, company representatives presented their plans and fielded questions from residents.
Community members raised concerns about how the project could affect water usage, the environment and nearby neighborhoods. Questions ranged from the amount of water the facility might use to whether a community benefit agreement would be included in the development.
