Divcon, a Dallas-based company specializing in building and power management systems for data centers, has appointed data center veteran Tom Ray to its Board of Directors. Ray's extensive experience from EdgeCore Data Centers and CoreSite Realty Corporation will support Divcon's growth. The company aims to expand its services for energy efficiency and environmental controls in the evolving data center market, particularly for high-density AI workloads.
Divcon, a Dallas-based provider of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for mission-critical facilities, has announced the appointment of Tom Ray to its Board of Directors as an independent member. Ray brings over four decades of operating, investment, and advisory experience within the data center industry, having previously served as chairman, CEO, and co-founder of EdgeCore Data Centers and CEO and founder of CoreSite Realty Corporation.
The appointment is part of Divcon's strategy to expand its business amid increasing demand for advanced systems that manage power, cooling, and critical infrastructure in data centers. CEO and Board Chairman Marc Shiffman highlighted Ray's experience as an owner and operator as particularly relevant to the company's growth, especially with the expansion of AI computing and high-density workloads driving greater focus on energy efficiency and environmental controls.
Divcon, a portfolio company of Goldman Sachs Alternatives since 2024, aims to leverage Ray's expertise to increase its exposure to a data center market requiring sophisticated controls for electricity, water, and environmental conditions. The company's proprietary solutions currently manage these controls across more than nine million square feet of data center space nationwide, supporting over 100 installations and more than three gigawatts of critical load since 2020. Ray joins former Microsoft executive Nana Bule as an independent director, reinforcing Divcon's leadership as it pursues further growth in mission-critical infrastructure.
