Former Georgia utility regulator Tricia Pridemore hired by data center developer
Former Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tricia Pridemore has joined Atlanta-based data center developer DC BLOX as executive vice president of energy, regulatory, and policy. She will lead energy strategy and policy engagement for the company as data center expansion drives demand for electric grid capacity in Georgia.
Former Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tricia Pridemore has been appointed Executive Vice President of Energy, Regulatory, and Policy at Atlanta-based data center developer DC BLOX. The company announced her hiring, stating she will serve as the chief liaison to energy providers, lawmakers, and regulatory bodies across Georgia and the wider Southeast region.
Pridemore’s move follows over eight years on Georgia’s utility-regulating panel, the Georgia Public Service Commission, where she oversaw integrated resource planning for Georgia Power, rate cases, and major generation decisions. Her new role is critical as intense demand for electric grid capacity, fueled by large-scale data center construction, has become a significant political issue in Georgia.
DC BLOX CEO Jeff Uphues highlighted Pridemore’s proven ability to unite public and private stakeholders, emphasizing its importance for advancing the company's initiatives in energy strategy, grid capacity, and policy alignment. She will specifically negotiate power purchase agreements covering various energy sources for DC BLOX’s expanding network of data centers across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
