The initiative is directly tied to Meta's expanding data center project in Richland Parish, Louisiana.
Dr. Justin Hoggard, chancellor of LDCC, emphasized the transformational nature of Meta's investment, stating it will remove financial barriers and provide a direct pathway to strong careers. Henry Thornton, Community Development at Meta, reiterated the company's commitment to investing in the communities where it operates, ensuring local residents are prioritized for career opportunities arising from the data center's expansion. The funds will support training in fields such as data center operations, construction, electrical work, fiber optics, and HVAC.
