Citizen group files lawsuit against City of Hermantown over data center zoning changes

A non-profit citizen group named Stop the Hermantown Data Center has served the City of Hermantown, Minnesota, with a lawsuit. The suit alleges that the city enacted improper zoning changes in the Adolph neighborhood to facilitate a planned Google data center project, claiming violations of spot-zoning restrictions. A press conference is scheduled to address the lawsuit, with residents from Hermantown, Midway Township, Solway Township, Proctor, Esko, Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding communities expected to attend. The group also stated that the lawsuit would be extended to include the county in the near future.
