Hadley Haas, the Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania’s 44th Assembly District, said her legislative priorities include lowering household costs, protecting public schools and expanding healthcare access. In discussing artificial intelligence and data centers, she backed House Bill 1834, which would prevent data centers from passing their energy costs on to ratepayers, and called for mandatory reporting of water and electricity consumption.

Haas said Pennsylvania should establish statewide consumer and environmental protections while giving municipalities time to make informed siting decisions. She endorsed Governor Josh Shapiro’s data center restrictions and supported legislation such as House Bill 2496, which would allow municipalities to pause data center construction for 180 days. Her responses were published as part of the West Hills Gazette’s candidate questionnaire.
