Southern Environmental Law Center offers pro bono work on data center lawsuit in Hawkins County

The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) has extended an offer of pro bono legal representation to the Hawkins County government in Tennessee, as confirmed by Mayor Mark DeWitte. This offer comes in response to a lawsuit initiated by ExoticRidge Crypto Company LLC against the county. ExoticRidge Crypto Company LLC is challenging what it describes as a "sweeping ban on data centers" that has been implemented within Hawkins County's jurisdiction. The SELC's Nashville office has proposed to represent the county free of charge. The Hawkins County Commission is scheduled to review and consider this offer during its upcoming meeting next month, indicating a significant development in the ongoing legal dispute over data center regulations in the county.
