A data center project at the RELLIS Campus in Bryan, Texas, is seeking a second chance after its original developer, RELLIS Campus Data and Research Center LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last fall. Bryan City Council has scheduled a special meeting for May 5 to consider a tax abatement agreement for the facility, which has been under construction for approximately two years. According to Mayor Pro Tem James Edge, new ownership has acquired the project, and the building is nearing completion. Edge stated to WTAW that the proposed tax abatement is not a new deal but rather the transfer of an existing agreement to the new entity now overseeing the data center. The new owner's identity and the specific financial terms of the abatement have not yet been publicly disclosed. Representatives from the City of Bryan declined to comment ahead of the council meeting.
